A Hypnotic Regression to Life-Between-Lives (LBL) is typically conducted over two separate appointments. The advantage of the two-session approach is that it creates a separation in time between discussion of present-life memories and emotions (along with an opportunity to answer any questions you may have regarding LBL and hypnosis) with trancework dealing with past-life & between-life material (which is best accomplished free of preoccupation with present-life details). Often the depth of trance is more easily and deeply achieved if it is not immediately preceded by a discussion of present life details. It doesn't matter whether the sessions are separated by 24 hours or several months.
People who are already familiar with trance tend to enter into the hypnotic state more rapidly and with greater depth than those encountering this altered state of consciousness for the first time. For this reason, before scheduling a LBL session it is highly recommended that prospective clients first experience at least one session of hypnosis, preferably Past Life Regression, with Dr. Roffey or another qualified hypnotherapist. This permits familiarity with a state of altered consciousness and an opportunity to resolve any questions or doubts about the hypnotic procedure. Entry into the Life-Between-Life state is typically engendered through the experience of death in a past life. Therefore, prior exposure to PLR is a definite "plus", though not essential.
The first session is a time during which you can familiarize Dr. Roffey with areas of your (present) life that are the likely consequence of past life and between-life influences -- early family life; significant recurrent themes; people of consequence, etc. Further, time is allotted to address any questions you may have regarding trance, hypnosis, PLR and LBL. Ideally, you will leave your first appointment with a sense that Dr. Roffey knows you well enough to relate the material that arises in your upcoming trancework session to your life today, thereby enhancing the possibilities for meaningful insight, growth, and change. Typically, this (first) appointment takes about 75 minutes; Dr. Roffey's fee for the session is $120.
The second session is entirely devoted to Hypnotic Regression trancework. The process entails: 1) an 'induction' that both relaxes and assists in achieving an altered state of consciousness; 2) a 'top-level' discussion (while in trance) of past life material through the death of that past-life; 3) entry and discussion (while in trance) of the 'life between lives' and; 4) 'closure' (also conducted while in trance), during which the information that arises in past-life and between-life states is related to present-life issues and patterns. This is a time in which the typical client is able to 'see through another lens' into present reality, often yielding profound insights and a deeper appreciation for the wisdom that lies within.
The amount of time spent in trance during your session with Dr. Roffey is determined by several factors: the depth of trance you achieve, the material that arises and, often, your previous familiarity with the trance state. Most often a PLR is accomplished in two hours or less. A Life-Between-Life session often takes longer because that work typically begins following the death of a past life. Dr. Roffey's fee for the second session is solely time-dependent: $180 for 2 hours or less and $280 for 2 1/2 to 3 hours. The total for the two sessions combined is either $300 or $400; if the total time is less, your fee will be apportioned downward.
Hypnosis is not something that another person does to you without your cooperation; it is a collaborative effort. Therefore, it is essential that your mind is satisfied concerning the safety of the procedure with no lingering unanswered questions remaining when attempting to achieve a state of trance. Trance is induced with heavy reliance upon Progressive Relaxation combined with many "deepening techniques" to promote a smooth and comfortable transition into hypnosis. Whereas it is possible to experience vivid Past Life recall in even a light state of trance, the "deeper" states of consciousness tend to be associated with a greater mix of perceptual experiences to include a sense of inner knowing, emotional engagement, physical sensations and, for some, "vision." If, prior to setting an appointment for Spiritual Regression you wish to enhance your skills in hypnosis, Dr. Roffey recommends that you practice Past Life Recall at home using the 5 CD set, Exploring Your Past Lives by William Buhlman (available on Amazon).
